I’ve been to Oahu, Hawaii.  The fiance’ has never been.  I LOVED it!  I did not stay in Waikiki, which I think is the key.  I actually stayed at the Hale Koa, which is a military resort.  (only military, dept. of Defense, etc can book rooms there)  I had a wonderful time.  So, when we first started talking about honeymoons, I wanted something different and unique.  Think a small island off of Greece, the Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Thailand, Italy…..  I researched some of the most far off, crazy beachy places I could find.  I literally was driving myself insane. 

Thankfully, the fiance’ pulled me back down to reality.  (He does that a lot, hence why I lourve him   He mentioned that this will not be our last vaction ever and by over doing it, it might not meet all of our expectations.  Holy crap, he’s smart.  And he’s right. 

So, over wine and dinner one night we just decided that Hawaii would be it.  No matter how cliche’ it might be, we really don’t care.  So, now the problems are as follows:

Which islands to visit

How much Spam can we get in 2 weeks?????

If this is honeymoon cliche’ – I’ll take it.  This is Oahu.  We’ll probably stay the majority of our time here.  We will stay just south of Waikiki because it’s just so much quieter and calmer.  We would love to visit the other more remote islands, but in all seriousness, we like a nightlife.  I don’t mean clubs, we like to drink.  We need a little outdoor tiki bar and a jam band.  That is our ultimate date.  I’m sure Kauai is beautiful, but a little too desolate for us.  To each his own, right?

I bet we end up staying at The Hilton Hawaiian Village.  It’s next door to the Hale Koa.  When I was there, we ate in the village and watched their weekly fireworks shows!  It’s beautiful, but slightly confusing.  They a have a lot of towers, so I’m gonna get on the horn and make sure ours is up front and personal with the front of the ocean. 

This is the Outrigger at Waikiki, nice hotel, but too close to all the noise and hustle and bustle of Waikiki.  I like people, but I prefer to sleep away from them.  I also thought about spending a couple nights in the North Shore because – BY FAR – that was my favorite day trip last time.  We’ll just have to wait and see….

So, after a dinner like that, I needed a little detox.  Even though it was fabulous, my stomach still needs a little soothing.  This tea tastes great and really does help you feel a little more comfortable after a huge meal.

Here is a huge pot of seafood.  The Philadelphia area is expected to get 2 feet of snow this weekend, so we stocked up on food, including lobster, clams, shrimp, sausage and corn.  It was delicious.

Yummo.  Seriously I ate this entire plate!  And now the fiance’ is making pasta with the juice from the seafood.  Can’t wait for dinner!

So sad, she died way too young.  They say that it was pneumonia and prescription drugs.  Just a shame.

I thought Taylor Swift looked great, but I thought her performances lacked a little finesse.  She sounded off key a few times.  Oh well, still love the gal.

Can’t say enough about Gaga.  Just love her.

This is my winner in the fashion department.  Lea Michele from Glee.  So cute. 

As far as performances, I have to say my good old country music was well represented.  The Zac Brown Band rocked out and Lady A’s performance was haunting.  Way to go country.  Pink and Dave Matthews were really good too. 

Tomorrow is the day!  I can’t wait for the premiere of the last season of Lost.  I have been a huge fan of this crazy show since the very beginning.  I’ll be watching it at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden.  A company is setting up all the technical stuff and me and a group of fans will be watching Lost right next to the Shark tank in the aquarium!  Can’t wait…. I will follow John Locke anywhere.  Oh and since we finally decided on Hawaii for our honeymoon, I started researching things to do in Oahu (even though I’ve been there…) and came across a Lost tour.  Hummer’s drive you around to places where Lost has filmed (or could be filming, though the show will be over by the time we get there).  They also tour you around to some famous movie sites.  Seemed really cool, that will be on our itinerary in August.  And then I will go eat a Puka Dog.  Didn’t do that the first go round, definitely getting one this time!  What is a Puka Dog you ask?

Only the coolest hot dog I’ve ever seen.  My father prides himself in his knowledge and pure determination to find all the local hot dog joints in a new city.  I seem to follow in his footsteps.
